Location of this experience:
Inga Reserve
For the Inga, education and culture are founded on four pillars: the thought of the elders, native languages, sacred plants, and the norms and values of their culture. On this journey, you will have the unique opportunity to share the daily life of a IngaTaita and his family. Together with him, we will participate in different events such as the yagé ceremony, cleansing with medicinal plants and “ortiga” (natural indigenous acupuncture, that cleanses the body, improves the immune system and improves the connection with the land through the cleansing of the senses) and walks through the jungle.
Amazon foothills
The Colombian Amazon foothills cover 1.5 million hectares distributed in four regions. The relationship between mountains and plains means that the paramos receive more than 2,000 millimeters of annual rain and the mountainous forests up to 4,500 millimeters in rainy years, which makes it an extremely diverse area in terms of flora and fauna. The “Fin del Mundo” waterfall and the “Mandiyaco” Canyon will provide you with experiences of connection with nature and its amazing diversity. In “Puerto Limón” you will be able to meet members of the Inga community and you will enjoy beautiful waterfalls.
Donde se Oculta el Sol, Villagarzón
Walking inside the forest, very early in the morning, you will have the ideal setting to watch various types of birds including tanagers, woodpeckers and some birds of prey (there are more than 240 species of birds registered in the area). You can also enjoy the diverse fauna and flora found in the region.
