Is a beautiful territory protected by more than twenty-five indigenous ethnicities (some of them without any contact with “the Western world”). This region has a unique ecosystem on the planet where there are 6 rivers, 586 species of wildlife, 96 types of fish and more than 550 birds within its 54,000 square kilometers of well-preserved jungle.
Pajarito, Mono y Mavecure are 3 imposing gray stone hills called tepuis (a word that in the indigenous language means home of the gods). Its rocks, cataloged among the oldest on the planet, rise above the Fluvial Star of the South where the Inírida, Atabapo and Guaviare rivers flow into the Orinoco river.
Called by its inhabitants the heart of the world. In this wonderful Sierra we find everything from perpetual snow to beautiful beaches. Four indigenous ethnicities live there: the Kogui, the Arhuaco, the Wiwa and the Kankuamos.
The Bogotá or “Bakatá” savanna was once a lake surrounded by mountains and its fertile lands keep the memory of the aboriginal natives. In addition to enjoying hot springs and Páramo grasslands, you can get to know some of the indigenous councils that remain active in the territory.
