Highlighted Activities:
- Visit to Paraiso neighborhood
- Connection with nature
- Ecological hike
The tour begins in the National Park founded in 1934, the second oldest park in Bogotá surrounded by the La Merced, Perseverancia, and El Paraíso neighborhoods; it is also a central point because it is where the Javeriana, Distrital, and La Piloto universities are located, as well as various technological institutes, which are accessed by a large number of people to all these venues.
We continue the hike along the slopes of the Eastern Hills, ascending to the El Paraíso neighborhood while the guides share with us the history of the neighborhood, its origin, and the community work that keeps it going today.
After a short break, we climb up the hills, following the traditional path marked by the El Paraíso neighborhood community aqueduct through the Bogotá Eastern Forest Reserve until we reach the Neuque (Arzobispo) Waterfall. We will walk for about 20 minutes to half an hour among trees and moss, on a path full of natural beauty, where we will also stop at the Mirador and the “Tubo” well.
There we will rest and enjoy the space for approximately half an hour. If you wish, you can immerse yourself in the water and enjoy a refreshing cold-water bath.
We start the return journey, arriving again at the edge of the neighborhood, where we enjoy a panela water or aromatic tea drink with bread, while we hear about the neighborhood’s ecological actions and witness the construction of the digester and the El Paraíso orchard.
We return to the city, renewed and recharged by nature.
